The song of the ages

Have you ever noticed that people seem to like the music that was around when they first started listening to music the best?

It makes it easy to predict their age. If for example you like Pink you are young. If you like Bob Dylan you ............have grown up children.

I like Pink AND Bob Dylan. Perhaps I've been unconsciously trying to keep my age a secret! (I am a woman of mystery...) Mind you I also like 80s pop music, which is a dead giveaway. No-one likes that kind of music unless they were a teenager in the 80s.

All I have to say to that Femina is :-

"And the judge and the jury
They all put the blame on me
They wouldn't go for my story
They wouldn't hear my plea

Cos I'm guilty (guilty)
Guilty as a girl can be
Come on baby can't you see
I stand accused of love in the first degree"

Ummm... I like Mozart. And Handel. I didn't think I was THAT old. :)

That's awesome! I'm laughing so hard right now.

Oops - that was a response to Long Dark Hair's comment, not to yours, Hip Jen. Liking Mozart and Handel isn't THAT funny...

Jen - are you poking holes in my completely over-generalised theory??

Does this mean your folks like Bob Dylan? Cos I know your folks, and frankly, that would surprise me.

And I don't know, I know Hip Jen too, and perhaps she IS that old ... well she's older than me anyway, so that's pretty old.

That final paragraph I wrote made absolutely no sense. Top marks if you can work out what I meant.

Long Dark Hair....I seem to recall a certain person (i.e. YOU) once saying that their favourite song was "American Pie". Explain that, baby!!

My favourite song, as you know, is "Africa", which fits as it's 80s... I bless the rain...
